Description: IWC SchaffhausenMark XI / 11 British MoD spec Military watch 1950-52IWC cal.89 movement One of the legendary Dirty Dozen watches ordered by the British Ministry of Defence for RAF, and probably to the most sought after: IWC Mark XI, the second incarnation after the famous WWII RAF Pilot Mark X.The watch is generally in a very good original condition, reconditioned by MoD before selling on public auctions in the 1980s. The dial shows some patina which adds to the character of the watch, the military markings on the caseback have been sadly removed when the case was being reconditioned, but the broad arrow sign is still present on the dial and movement bridge.Serial number places this particular piece in the early 1950s. The movement has been serviced in December 2023 and keeps very good time. The watch comes on premium Nato leather strap, but can be replaced with either canvas Nato, or generic leather strap if needed.
