Perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any room or collection, this Koch and Bergfeld Silver Bremen Ashtray is a must-have for anyone who appreciates fine craftsmanship. This ashtray is from a Norddeutscher Lloyd steam ship. The company was founded in 1857. In the company emblem, an anchor and the Bremen key are crossing each other, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves. The company was often called the "Bremen Line." During the first year of its operations a line to England was started with three small steamers, the "Adler", "Mwe" and "Falke", and four large screw steamers were ordered in England and Scotland for the New York service. The bottom of the ashtray has an engraved anti-theft identification number. The number was removed from the picture. If sold, the number will be carefully etched out. Buyer must agree to this.
