F. Caldwell Company of New York City was "bespoke". Painted in Chinese red & gold. The works of the clock? A large E. Howard movement...the best available from an American Clock maker. Impressive and works perfectly but might require fast/slow adjustment after shipping. Case by E F Caldwell & Co is 30" tall x 17" wide. Equally impressive! Barometer is equally nice and appears to be functional as well. The works are American as well: Tycos of Rochester New York. Also 30" tall x 17" wide. The pieces are cased in Caldwell cases which are painted in an antique red with gold highlights. There is paint loss in places and it appears touch ups have taken place in the past 100+ years. The composition appears to be painted brass/bronze with gesso which has chipped in places and there are losses. But this adds to the honesty of the pieces and could be reversed if desired. Shipping is not cheap but these need special handling. Several pieces of lost gesso will be included to aid in replacement if desired.
