Description: Lionel #282 Gantry Crane - Magnetic - Triple Action (with cab light) · Magnificent accessory produced from 1954 – 56 · Crane operates 360 degrees – magnet raises/lowers and energized through controller. · Motor has been totally checked out, cleaned of old paraffin-based lubricants, tested motor armature, field coil, brush plate and bushings. New brushes installed. All mechanical parts have been cleaned, oiled/lubed with synthetic lubricants. Motor is strong and will last for many years with proper care and maintenance. · Magnet is strong and is the preferred stainless steel versus black anodized metal. Please note magnet leads are harnessed. Great for improved playability (see photos) · Crane base, wheels, mounting tabs, and all hardware are in very good condition. · Controller wiring has been replaced with 5 ft of correct FC5 grey wiring. · Controller is in very good condition Also included are custom bright red shifting lever knobs. (see photo) · Cab has strong lettering, no cracks or breaks, and solid mounts. · I’ve installed a red cab light that comes on when the magnet is energized, also included is a custom light reflector/heat shield to prevent bulb melt. Improved playability by letting the operator know when the magnet is on and helps prevent magnet burn out. (see photos)Please note: added double boom pulleys and guy wire, enhances appearance. Another item deleted by Lionel Note: Unfortunately, Lionel removed these decorative items as the years rolled by to save on production cost. The added items provide the Lionel deletes.... and much more! · Copy of operating instructions is included, and a personal letter covering recommended maintenance and recommended products to use. Crane is all original (except for noted above) fully operational, and in very good + condition, only minor signs of play wear. You will be proud to add this accessory to your collection or layout.
