Description: We are pleased to offer for your consideration absolutely gorgeous & really rare Exceptional & AUTHENTIC Antique c.1927 One of the best Louis Icart, French, (1888-1950) Etchings & Aquatint Oval Color Etching and Drypoint Aquatint with touches of hand coloring on wove paper titled: "FIDELITE" or "FIDELITY" , also known as "My Secret Love", features one of the best Louis Icart lovey image of A Young Lady Standing Near Tree... The piece is HAND SIGNED by the artist in Pencil in lower right "Louis Icart" and numbered 44 just above the embossed, raised seal called a Blindstamp in lower left. This etching has a plate impression ( dent around the oval edge of etching) as a proof of it's authenticity. In the case of Louis Icart, a raised seal called a blindstamp, was created in mid-1926, and is usually found in the lower left corner, just below the image. There is writing on the left side just above the top, reads: Copyright 1927 by Graveurs Modernes 194 Rue de Rivoli - PARIS The etching is surrounded with a mat/matte/cardboard. Offered unframed. Measurements approximately: Oval Image: 19" high x 15 1/2" wide. Plate with etching: 19" x 22 5/8" (measured from the back). Total cardboard: 27 1/4" high x 23 1/2". CONDITION REPORT: AS PICTURED. Some toning and darkening commensurable to almost 100 years old etching. No tears, No holes, No oxidation marks to the etching plate. The plate with etching is attached to the cardboard mat around oval only, while the edges are not attached. The edges of the paper plate are not evenly cut, see back photos. The carton shows flaw marks on both corners. Please, note: different monitors may show some difference in colors or shades.
