Description: By late 1943, the US strategic air forces in Europe were mounting a relentless daylight bombing campaign against Nazi Germany. Opposing the heavy bombers or Viermots (four-motors) was the Jagdwaffe equipped with its Bf 109s, Fw 190s and twin-engined Bf 110 and Me 210/410 heavy fighters. Despite suffering from increasingly high levels of attrition among undertrained pilots, a small band of battle-hardened fighter aces wreaked havoc amongst the American heavy bomber formations. Illustrated with black & white photos and eight pages of color plate profiles. Brand new, unused condition.
