Brandon Nimmo led off the bottom of the first for the Mets. VOTH HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! On the first pitch, Voth threw a four-seam fastball for a ball. He followed that with another four-seamer for a ball. Voth then found the strike zone on the third pitch with this ball but fell behind 3-1 on his fourth pitch. On the fifth pitch of the AB, NIMMO LACED THIS BALL FOR A DOUBLE (his third of the season!) TO RIGHT FIELD WHERE ADAM EATON GRABBED IT and got it back into the infield. (I have no idea which Nats infielders touched this ball.) This ball was then retired. The Mets went on to win 8-2 behind hits by Michael Conforto, Pete Alonso, Dominic Smith, Andres Gimenez, Tomas Nido, Luis Guillorme, Billy Hamilton, and Nimmo (of course). (Only JD Davis and Jeff McNeil went hitless.) This ball is MLB Authenticated for all five pitches from Voth to Nimmo, including Nimmo’s double to Eaton.
