Discogs.com has no date available nor does AllMusic.com. This is a guess, but I think this record was released in the early ‘60s to jump on the folk-revival boom started by the Kingston Trio and Peter, Paul & Mary. There was a show on television called “Hootenanny” which premiered in April 1963, so I’m guessing that this album was released before that. Had it been released during the TV show’s run, there would have been some copyright trouble for sure, and I’m not finding any record of any. Anyhow, lovers of folk music — indeed, obscure folk music — will find much to like in this compilation. None of the artists seem to have left much of a legacy but the music is strong and just waiting for a modern update. A good cleaning is all this one needs. No warping. LABEL GRADE: VG+ Notes: No ring wear, tape, writing, or spindle wear. Track-list text is silver on black. SLEEVE GRADE: EX Notes: Non-original brand-new plain white paper with rounded corners and a circle cut in the center of both sides to display the label. JACKET GRADE: VG Notes: Minimal ring wear, no splits. No marks, some dings, some crinkles, no writing. Edges, corners, and spine (no text on spine) are worn. (See my original scan.) If you buy more than one item from me, the shipping cost will be the highest original shipping fee plus $1 per additional item. Payments managed by eBay. This is not a cut-out or a record-club pressing. It is the original issue. Note: I haven't cleaned this vinyl record because everybody seems to prefer their own methods. I'll leave the cleaning up to the buyer. Also, I'm not a professional vinyl seller or buyer. This record comes from my own collection. Enjoy the auction — and good luck!
