Description: For sale is a vinyl record by the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Charles Munch, featuring Benny Goodman, titled "Mozart's Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, in A, along with Clarinet Quintet in A", originally released in 1957 by RCA Victor Red Seal Records. This is a first pressing with red colored labels, with "RCA VICTOR" in white at the top, with a full-bodied picture of "Nipper", the RCA dog, underneath with dark shading behind him, commonly called a "Shaded Dog" pressing. On the bottom of the label is "LONG 33 1/3 PLAY". Inside the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers 5-S/6-S, followed by a machine stamped upper case "I", indicating that earlier stampers were used to press this record at RCA Records' pressing plant located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this album used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as Very Good because of a five inch seam split on the upper right hand corner, another smaller seam split in the middle of the bottom seam, corner blunts and faint ring wear. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good Plus because of superficial hairlines and sleeve marks, but with surfaces that are still shiny and bright without any smudges, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this album between Very Good plus and Excellent because of occasional low level surface noise, none of which over-powers the music. It plays all the way through without pops, skips or lock-ups. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Classical albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
