Description: Beautifully matted and framed original painting by Kiowa Bobby Hill aka Whitebuffalo from 1978 titled "The Long Winter". Hill (1933-1984) used the White Buffalo name in his career as a professional artist. After graduating from Anadarko, Oklahoma High School, he joined the US Air Force and served in Korea. He had a varied career as a technical illustrator, commercial artist, set designer and painter. Hill's work is included in the permanent collections of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, the US Department of the Interior in Washington DC and the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. The frame has a really nice brass plaque on the bottom part of the frame with the painting title. Frame measures about 17.25 inches wide and 21.25 inches tall. Wonderful original artwork from a known Native American artist. In excellent condition with some scuffs on the frame. Professionally framed and matted behind glare free glass.
