This is the latest edition of the classic Oktava MK-104, which is the 012 preamp body with a side address large diaphragm, type K67 condenser capsule head. Notice that Oktava has gone back to using their beautiful classic logo! As well it's the best revision of this microphone especially compared to the old silver version of 20 years ago which were often modified for optimization. This edition needs no modification and sound great out of the box. The microphone includes the preamp body, a cardioid capsule a basic mic clip, and a 10db cut adapter. For those who don't know the microphone it's unique transformer-less design and unique capsule design make it have exceptionally rich overtones in the low and mid range. Coupled with a type K67 large diaphragm capsule (An exacting replica of a vintage German capsule, that is also found in Oktava's most expensive microphone), this mic has a warmth and depth that is great on lead vocals and acoustic instruments. As well, by using the the 10db cut adapter (before the preamp) this microphone can be used on loud sources where usually a condenser microphone can get overwhelmed such as guitar amps and snare drums. The capsule handbasket is a compact enclosure with a side address capsule based on the famous German design.
