Description: This vintage 60 plus yr old piece of handmade needlework is a true patriotic treasure. It is Our beautiful "Pledge of Allegiance", and is raw and unframed. It measures 11 3/4 inches by 17 1/2 inches. The flags have 49 stars, so this piece was sewn in 1959 after Alaska became the 49th. In 1960-Hawaii became the 50th. The 49 star flag was only used for one year. I have not washed it. I think it could use a very gentle wash but will leave that decision to the winner.
