Description: Scarce original 1862 LN Rosenthal Civil War Lithograph with Written Provenance. This appears to have been given to a soldier who was at the camp. On the bottom of the paper, it is written in pencil "R. Benjamin 1862 from Burlington Green (New York)." On the back is a typed card with information about Mr. Benjamin's descendants, and the story about him surviving a bullet shot though his face. It also appears that they changed commanders at the camp because Col. Alonzo Ferguson's name has been pasted over the original. We assume this was done at the time it was made. Condition: Overall wear from age to the thin paper. This shows creases from having been folded before it was framed. We have not removed this from the frame. There is glass in the frame and the corners/miters are loose. There is general wear to the frame. Measures 13-1/2" x 8-3/4" total with frame. The print is about 7" x 11-1/2".See all photos and contact us with any questions.
