Description: I inherited these bracelets from my grandmother, and though I have fond memories of seeing them on her wrist when I was a child and was delighted to receive them after she passed, I seldom wear them because they are much too large for me. You can tell if you look at them, that I have squeezed them as small as I can get them in order to try to wear them comfortably. I've decided that it is time for them to find a new home with someone who can love them and wear them comfortably. The story behind these bangles is that my grandmother, who married my grandfather in 1918, took a trip with him to New York City in the mid 1930s and they visited Georg Jensen's very exclusive jewelry shop. She thought these were made by George Jensen but they are obviously not. I can find no historic documentation that Stuart Nye's jewelry was actually sold in Georg Jensen's store, but that is the family lore behind these bangles. The Stuart Nye family business is going strong and they still make beautiful handcrafted silver jewelry. You can visit their website and see what they are making today. FYI the bangles measure 6" each. The wider one is 3/4" and the smaller is 1/2".
