The show was recorded in two and a half hours (including intermission), of which 48 minutes were edited for actual TV programming and aired in the United States on 3 April 1991 and in the United Kingdom on 26 August 1991. . A live album was produced from this program, and this will be the first unplugged album. Other artists followed, including Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and Nirvana. Unplugged (The Official Bootleg) was originally released as a limited edition of 250,000 records and less than 1 million CDs worldwide.
