Description: Selling a mint condition, unused, never read copy of "The Artists' Journal", the Spring 2000 edition. This is the Peter Hunt edition, with Peter Hunt stories, Peter Hunt bio and facts, a page of Peter Hunt's "The Comma Stroke" upon which all Peter Hunt work is based, and patterns for recreating Peter Hunt work. These patterns would be HATED by Peter Hunt who thought you should paint freehand "With a blithe spirit." This is a gorgeous magazine which no Peter Hunt aficionado or collector should be without. There is also comic relief as the editor writes about the Peter Hunt phenomena which he doesn't "get" in the slightest. The editor is pea green with envy at the cult of Peter Hunt, whose work he appears (unlike the rest of us!) to disdain. But the editor is a nobody in the art world, and the cult of Peter Hunt continues to be huge, and his work sought after by collectors. The cover is Peter Hunt style. Next is the funny editorial which will make you laugh at the envy of the author, after that is the page of Peter Hunt brush strokes (master the comma stroke in all its permutations and you too can paint like Peter Hunt!), then there is the Peter Hunt style pattern for the scene "Stone Soup" with a couple of pages of directions and hints. Following is a six page article on Peter Hunt and his work with great color illustrations and a list of his books. Then there's a removable paper pattern for Peter Hunt designs which you can transfer to you painting surface (Peter will never know you've used a pattern!). Following that is a two page article with lovely color pictures of a child's chair called "Strawberry chair" in the Peter Hunt style. There's a two page color spread with text to create a Peter Hunt themed picnic basket cover with bucolic scene in typical Hunt style. Following is a four page article with color pictures which demonstrates "Peter Hunt's country angels", angels being a favorite motif of Mr. Hunt, especially on his romantic and Christmas themed items. Next is a four page article with color photos about how to decorate flat or round surfaces with Peter Hunt flowers. The last decorator Peter Hunt "how to" article is an Easter egg box with classic Hunt people and bunnies and hearts, so very Peter H.! Last is an absorbing article called "The Hunt For Hunt" which resulted in the finding of a rare Peter Hunt coffee table, which reads like a mystery novel, only we know "who done it?", that's PETER HUNT! Whether you love collecting Peter Hunt items, painting in Peter's peasant style, or you enjoy reading about this quirky, eccentric, talented showman / artist, YOU NEED THIS LOVELY MAGAZINE! Buyer pays $3.75 shipping, insurance and tracking. May be picked up in Pompton Plains, NJ. I adore Peter Hunt and bought several copies of this delightful magazine tribute to Peter Hunt in 2000, and I can only read my own one copy at a time, it's time to pass on the perfect copies.
