Postwar Lionel #6262 Flat Car with Original Box but without Load

Description: This listing is for a very nice 3-rail O Gauge Postwar Lionel #6262 Flat Car and Original Box but is missing the original wheel & axle loads. This car was first produced by Lionel in 1956 and came with 8 Lionel axles with 2 wheels on each axle with the wheels placed in the 16 slots on the special platform for this car. As you can see from my photos the car is in excellent used condition. The lettering is crisp; all 4 steps are intact as are both the metal brake wheel and its stand. The trucks are the more desirable postwar metal trucks with tabbed knuckle couplers which work and there is no rust anywhere on the car. Unfortunately the loads had been removed and used elsewhere many years ago. On the other hand, replacement postwar wheels and axles are readily available at a reasonable price. The box is complete with all 8 end flaps and no tape. It securely holds the car but shows wear from storage and handling. There are 2 places along one edge where it is starting to separate from the adjacent edge (see last 2 photos). I have taken photos of the car and the box from many different angles to help you determine their condition so please look carefully at all the photos I have posted.
