The equator, the tropics and the climate zones are shown within the hemispheres. Outside the hemispheres are other, smaller globes that describe further principles. These are supplemented by two tables in the lower half of the map with geographical calculations by well-known astronomers and geographers (including Ptolemy, Copernicus, Cassini). The card is dedicated to the Venetian senator Giusto Antonio Belegno. English description: This is a very unusual and decorative map which describes the main geographic principles in two Hemispheres. Within the two hemispheres the equator, the two tropics and the climatic zones are shown. In addition to the two main spheres several small globes illustrate further principles of geography and astronomy. In the lower part of the map two tables quote the geographical calculations of famous astronomers and geographers such as Copernicus, Ptolemy and Cassini. The engraving is dedicated to the Venetian Senator Giusto Antonio Belegno. This copper engraving was published by Vincenzo Maria Coronelli in 1690. It measures 47 x 62 cm (plate size) and is in good condition, showing some unobtrusive stains.
