Description: IMPORTANT: We are always happy to combine shipping. For your consideration is a nice stereoview titled "The Franconia Notch, From the Profile House" (on the paper label on the verso - #4449). This is a wonderful image looking past the boulders to the bowling alley in the distance. Note the people standing in front of the building. The view offers a great 3D effect. It was published by E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., New York and is part of the "White Mountain Views, Franconia Range" series. You will find some light pencil markings on the verso. There is overall soiling, soft corners and some paper loss to the back of the mount. Please view the enlargeable scans carefully and contact me with any questions. Over the coming months we will be thinning out our collection focused on the mountains of the Northeast. This collection includes the White Mountains (New Hampshire), Green Mountains (Vermont), Adirondacks (New York), Mt. Katahdin, Mt. Monadnock, and other miscellaneous mountains in the region. Also items concerning the Appalachian Trail. We will be listing hundreds of White Mountain stereoviews depicting towns, hotels, Mount Washington, the Cog railway, etc.. If you are looking for a particular view by Kilburn, Soule, Weller, Franklin White, or any of the period photographers feel free to inquire whether we have one to offer. We will also be listing many books (including guides and early histories), maps, photos, Appalachian Mountain Club items, etc.. Please check our auctions regularly and if you are seeking a particular item for your collection contact us and we will let you know if we will be selling one.
