He was born and raised in Indianapolis, where he worked in bicycle shops. As a teenager, he moved to Worcester, Massachusetts, the City where Iver Johnson Bicycle was located. There he began his cycling career. In 1896 he became professional and 1899 he became a World Champion in Cycling. This card is graded by PSA, the leader in the Card Grading Service.
