Description: This is an aqua quart applied blob top beer bottle from Allegheny, Pennsylvania (Allegheny County). This bottle stands 11-3/4 inches tall. Applied blob top. No chips or cracks. Overall a nice looking bottle. Additional cleaning always suggested. See pics. It is nicely embossed with the following: LOUIS H. BROUDY ALLEGHENY Base: AGW A little info: A.G.Win some cases, American Glass Works, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (c. 1866-c.1905). American Glass Works reportedly manufactured mostly window glass prior to 1880, but also produced bottles and jars for many years. A number of different firm names (partnerships, business names) were involved in the operation of the works over the years. The exact time periods during which the AGW mark was used on bottles by the Pittsburgh operation is somewhat unclear, and the subject can be very confusing for researchers and bottle collectors. For several years the name of the glass company was changed to American Glass Works, Limited, and then changed back again, removing the Limited. Thanks for looking! Always happy to combine shipping on multiple listings!
