Description: Rare 1930s Charlie Kurtsinger War Admiral Signed Inscr Cut HOF Jockey D 1946 1930s Charlie Kurtsinger War Admiral's Jockey Signed Inscribed Cut HOF D 1946. Extremely rare pencil signature of Hall of Fame Jockey of Charlie Kurtsinger best known as the jockey who rode War Admiral to a triple crown victory in 1937 as well as the match race against Seabiscuit. The inscription and signature is executed in graphite and includes a great inscription "With Best Wishes "War Admiral" and Charlie Kurtsinger". The offered autograph comes from an autograph book assembled by a gentleman name Joe Brady that included 100+ vintage autographs from the mid to late 1930's. Mainstream autographs including Ty Cobb, Mel Ott, Joe DiMaggio were all independently authenticated by JSA authentication. Based on the provenance we are confident in the authenticity of this signature. We have done an extensive search and have been unable to find exemplar signatures of Kurtsinger. Having passed away in 1946 at the young age of 1939 we recognize that if other examples exist they are extraordinarily rare.
