RARE 1981 Acoustic G100T vintage Tube Combo Amplifier! 5-band EQ. M-sa Mark II ?

Description: Hello ! Up for sale is a very rare and hard to find gem from Acoustic Amps .... the G100T Tube amp! From what I've read, these were Acoustic's answer to the legendary Mark II amps made by Mesa Boogie out of the West Coast. (Might be modelled after the Mark III or the Mark IV for all we know, but it was the II from what I have read.) The very familiar 5 band EQ is reminiscent of the set that is found on the Boogie Mark II's, and thus is probably one of the reasons the correlation that has been made. I am not sure if the sounds of the two amps are spot on as I have not heard too many of the Boogie's. But let me tell you, this Acoustic G100T is one TERRIFIC sounding amp! Its clean sound is very solid, especially if you turn the Master volume up high to let the valves do the work and season the channel volume to taste. Just like you would expect from a quality tube amp. Maybe not Fender clean, but definitely comparable to Marshall's and yes, Mesa's ! Also a great platform for pedals, as we shall see a very short bit later. But what I really love is the overdrive on this amp. It is so muscular and has quite a powerful bark with just enough bite. It has a nice percussive attack on single notes, but can also sing on your solos, especially as you turn the gain up. And of course, you've got a host of very useful and responsive parametric controls at your disposal, namely treble, mid, bass and presence. On top of that, both the treble and bass have a pull boost knob for even more tonal options! Add to that your Mesa type graphic equalizer and you have practically a UNIVERSE of sounds available to you in this one relatively compact package !!!!!! Oh, yeah. No need for a reverb pedal or rackmount .... the onboard reverb sounds great and has a very good range. Yeah, I'd say it rivals the Fender tanks! To switch from the drive channel to the clean channel, we are including a free one button footswitch! Just make sure you keep the one of the switches on the far right of the control panel set on Vol 2, which I am assuming is the channel switching mode of the amp. Put a Joyo California Sound pedal (YES, it's their emulation of the many Mesa Boogie dirt sounds available!) or a Caline Mark IV, which is Caline's emulation of Mesa's well, .... Mark IV, and you can turn your Acoustic tube amp into a fire-breathing hard Rock and/or metal machine! (The Caline is not a one trick pony, either ! You can get Proco Rat type distortion or even Metal Zone and more of the chugga chugga type distortion effects out there!) The Joyo California sound though, really showcases how well this amp handles effects. You can set the "voice" and "gain" controls on the pedal to about mid-way or a little past and you can actually get almost the EXACT overdrive sound that the G100T produces ! Problem solved ! But there is so much more you can do with the this amp and the Joyo, or another pedal similar to it .... wonderful if you play different genres of music all in one gig. Need just past the edge of breakup crunch? Check ! Need a more modern Mesa Boogie type of distortion like John Petrucci of Dream Theater? You can do it with just a little bit of tweaking of this set up ! We also tried a Behringer Equalizer pedal through this amp. If you choose this for your setup, you can set up the amp to be overdriven (which happens to be when we think this amplifier sounds the best!) Then, to clean up, in addition to turning down your volume and/or flicking to the neck pickup position, you can engage this pedal. Set the sliders to cut or reduce the frequencies that are causing distortion and you can clean up your driven signal with the stomp of a footswitch ! So many options that make this one heck of a terrific amp ! So grab this amazing, rare gem before someone snatches it up !
