Description: RARE ANTIQUE PATENT MARCH 31-JULY 12, 1857 METAL GUNPOWDER TIN GREEN PAINTED LID This is a rare antique metal gunpowder keg tin lid that has an 1857 patent date embossed on top. This gunpowder tin lid still has some of the original green paint on it as well. The lid is marked "Pat.d March 31 July 12 1857" in embossed out lettering on the top. Lid is steel with a lead screw-on portion in the middle. Lid shows quite a bit of wear around the edges but is a very hard-to-find piece that would still display very nicely. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Measures about 9 and 3/4" in diameter. Wonderful and rare old 1857 dated gunpowder lid would be a great find for your collection. Don't miss it.
