Description: US Model 1855 Socket Bayonet, measures 21" overall with a 18" blade. These fit the .58 Cal. US Model 1861,62,63 Musket Rifles. In excellent condition for it's age showing some light wear, and age patina spots. Socket is stamped C&Co. (Collins & Co.) very few are made and stamped by this famous machete maker. There is "C" also stamped on the opposite side of socket. The Model 1855 bayonets were not blued. They were finished bright. US stamped on the ricasso area too. Comes with the collar band and screw.
