Description: This item is a rare, vintage Andre d' Aulan peplum dress with spaghetti straps in a golden foil-like floral design; the flowers are on a creamy beige background. There is shiny golden thread throughout the floral design, creating a glittering affect. The bodice of the dress has boning inserts for shaping and support (see photos). The neckline is sweetheart with spaghetti straps. There is a label inside the dress with the name Andre d' Aulan. There are no labels indicating size or fabric. Condition of the garment is not perfect, it is vintage, used, sold AS IS. It is missing one small crystal and one tiny pearl in one of the buttons. I do not know fabrics, but this is not a soft flowing fabric, it is more substantial, closer to a jacquard or light weight brocade. Estimated size is 8 based on the measurements, but that is only a guess! You must compare the measurements to something that you know fits you well to determine if this could fit you. The following measurements are approximate: Measured from where the strap connects to the bodice, down to the bottom of the hem: 37-1/2" long Measured across from pit to pit: 17-1/2" (x2= 35" bust) Waist measured across the top line of the peplum seam: 13-1/4" (x2=27" waist) Hips measured 8" below the waist: 18-1/2" (x2=37" hips) Skirt measured from seam at top of peplum down to the hem: 27" Strap length measures a total of 12-1/4" long from front connection point to back connection point. It is hard to capture the colors accurately, I have tried to provide photos in different lighting. This was found at an estate sale. It is such a pretty dress with timeless style and glamour and would be gorgeous on the right person.
