Description: This Vixen Custom 90M Refractor is a high-quality telescope made in Japan. The 90mm achromatic doublet is coated. These 90mm telescopes from Vixen are rarely found in the US. I purchased this one some years ago for my collection but I am moving so it is now up for sale. This telescope will be provided with your choice of 1.25 or .965 genuine Vixen visual back. This is mounted on a Vixen Custom Alt/Az mount and tripod with slow motion controls, making it easy to set up and use. The mount is all metal and very stable. The telescope attaches easily with one knob. The plastic tub for holding eyepieces has been lost, but any Vixen tub or triangle tray can be fitted. Due to it's f11 focal ration and 1000mm focal length, there is very little false color. Views of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn will amaze you. The telescope also performs well on brighter deep sky objects- Orion Nebula, Pleiades, the Double Cluster to name a few. This is an excellent, high quality telescope for a budding young astronomer, a grab and go for an experienced amatuer or for the Vixen collector. There are no blemishes on the OTA that I could show in a photograph, although due to the age of the OTA you may be able to spot some I missed! The mount has some very minor wear from age and use, but very hard to see. For the collector, this is one of the earlier versions with a serialized metal name plate originally intended for the Japanese market and not for export. The telescope will be shipped in its original boxes with an additional outer box for protection. The original styrofoam packaging will also be included.
