Description: Beautiful Antique Hanging Light Excellent restored condition! Freshly rewired and ready for a new life with you. This was taken out of the Courthouse in Corunna, MI, which was built in 1903-1904. When it was remodeled in the recent past, this was removed and restored by Bob Daly of Fenton, MI (see his bio below). It is a HUGE statement piece!! New sockets have been installed, the brass polished, and the sage green paint details remain with some light wear to the paint here and there (see closeups). The huge milk glass shade lights up well and has no chips, cracks or stains. The fixture is made of brass - the ring / frame around the shade is solid cast brass - such high quality! Use 5 standard-base light bulbs up to 60 watts, or use LED bulbs for any brightness you like, as they use low wattage for bright light. Light bulbs not included. Markings in the ceiling mount canopy: "Eye Comfort System Pat Apld For"(This a by The National X-Ray Reflector Co.) This fixture will be shipped in 2 separate boxes, or you can also pick it up in Bristol, VA 24202. We suggest having 3 people for installation day, since the shade and brass ring together are big and heavy and need to be held up to connect to the arms of the fixture with bolts. This is easier with 2 people holding the shade and brass ring (one on either side) and one person bolting it together. Once installed, the bulbs can be replaced in the future from the top without removing the shade and ring. :) This beautiful antique is from a large antique lighting collection in Fenton, Michigan - see and watch our store for more from this fantastic collection. Here are details about the restorer: The late Bob Daly was a marathon runner and worked in his family's burglar alarm business until he started his own antique lighting restoration business in Fenton, Michigan in the 1980's: "Historic Lighting Restoration Services and Sales". He was restoring antique lighting for almost 40 years. This beautiful light was thoughtfully and skillfully restored by Bob to the tiniest detail. From new wiring to cleaning to touching up, buffing and polishing, Bob was a master at the details. He loved what he did and was excited to share these restored works of art with the next generation. He worked with loving care, and you can be proud to own one of his restorative works of art. We are certainly proud to have acquired his amazing collection, as we also restore and sell antique lighting and love to share it with all of you who want true antique pieces that have historic personality in your homes and buildings.
