This is an epiphytic species from lowland, coastal forest that is quite dense and home to many epiphytes such as bromeliads, orchids and aroids as well as several species of Rhipsalis. This plant is shrub-like with upright stems that later droop and hang, having oblong, flattened segments with crenate margins. New growth is reddish.
