Description: For auction is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a unique shaped planter or centerpiece bowl. The pattern is "Aztec" in the very collectible Futura line of art pottery. The window box measures 7 3/8" wide, 8 1/16" long, and is 4" tall. This planter or centerpiece bowl box displays a trapezoid shape with a very futuristic Art Deco design for the time period it was made. This piece sits on a six sided base or foot. A body with a deep well rises up off the foot and duplicates these 6 sides like the base but larger. This wonderful planter has a very pleasing peach to salmon colored glaze stripe that encompasses all but 1 side. These stripes are set against a blue green mottled background glaze. The pattern has a very southwestern feel to it. This planter or center piece bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or major dings or major chips. The piece is unsigned but there is no doubt as to who made this. It is a well documented Roseville Futura form. It is known as form number 188-8" in the Futura line of Art Pottery. This would be a lovely addition to any Roseville Futura collection. This planter was made circa 1924-1928.
