Description: Handsome fine binding of the 1922 second series of Palgrave's Golden Treasury, published by Macmillan, leather bound and signed by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Interior clean and bright, with handsome ex-libris plate. Fancy gilt inner dentelles and endpapers, all edges gilt. The cover presents well on the shelf, with several gilt rules over a crisp red calf leather. The spine is gorgeous, with raised bands and handsome giltwork to the compartments. The top compartment is loose and should be glued back down at some point, but for now still looks great on the shelf. A classic bit of bookcraft from one of the top binders of the day.
