Description: An SGC graded GOOD+ 2.5 – 1962 Post cereal card of Hall of Famer Francis "Fran" Tarkenton of the Minnesota Vikings. While not considered by some collectors to be a "true" rookie card, this card was issued the same year as Tarkenton's "official" Topps RC. 1962 Post Cereal Football cards were available on the back panels of a variety Post Cereal boxes and intended to be cut out individually from the box by hand. Since many of the cards were cut from the boxes by young children, it is difficult to find well-cut examples with the cutting guidelines still intact. The cutting guidelines on this example are visible on all but the right edge of the card. This example has no creasing, nice color, bold printing and bright borders. The corners are consistent with those found on most NM/NM+ examples. The right edge is cut at a slight angle, but it does not detract too much from the overall eye appeal of the card. On the back, there is some glue residue where the original inner bag of cereal was glued to the inside of the box. Otherwise, the back is clean.
