This one a true Shure as verified by the wiring color-code, one piece enclosure (Counterfeits often show two separate pieces when viewed at the connector end), pin numbers on the XLR insert, and a rugged mesh ball with beveled edges. The foam inside the mesh ball is in need of replacement. Shure part number 36A678A. $1.53 at Full Compass. The ball is dirty so I'd pull the foam out, run the mesh ball through the dish washer, and then install the replacement.
