Stanley No 71 wood router plane w/ 3/8" iron blade cutter good condition

Description: You are bidding on one Stanley Number 71 wood router plane as pictured. It is marked "STANLEY" on the arch, and "No 71" and "MADE IN USA" on the top surface. The knobs are black painted wood, and the collar is the more recent smooth style.Included with it is one cutter. It appears to have started out as a 1/2" cutter, but has been neatly ground down on both sides to a hair under 3/8". Dial calipers say about .360" at the sharp edge. This has the provision for the bottom fence, with the special grooves and threaded holes, but the fence and its hardware are not included.This also has the provision for the depth stop to be mounted in the arch, to convert it from open throat to closed throat, but those parts are not included.Condition is good, with some faint dirt and rust showing on the top side of the body. The knobs have a variety of scratches and dings in the black finish, with the reddish color of the wood showing through in a few small spots, and the knobs are intact with no cracks or splits. The nickeling on the sole has some scratches, probably from a prior aggressive cleaning. The cutter has a tiny hint of pitting. Except as noted, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything operates properly. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location.
