I bought another one of these bear as a baby present once, and I wouldn't be surprised if he became the little boy's favorite toy. Steiff treasures are great collectibles and decorative items, but they are also very safe toys for children of all ages. First American Teddy was only made in 2003. My bear is 21 years old, but in pristine condition. He has only been displayed behind glass. I am just a collector, an amateur of German toys, not a professional reseller.
