This was the fifth installment of the Universal "Inner Sanctum" series made between 1943 and 1945 and all starring horror all-star Lon Chaney Jr. This film was actually a remake of an earlier Universal film, THE MAN WHO RECLAIMED HIS HEAD (1934). Chaney is a scientist working on a cure for influenza. He is victimized by his unscrupulous boss (Naish), who releases the vaccine before it is ready, resulting in the death of Chaney's young son.
