Description: Studebaker 1949-1953 Truck Headlight Bezel “End of Production” Stamped version. Often discussed on Studebaker Forums and other Truck affecianados. These are stamped headlight bezels rather than the thick pot metal cast ones used from the start of the R Series Truck Production in 1949 that ran up into the early 1960’s. The more I look at these it’s intruiding intriguing. Exposed steel, gray primer and top coated with red paint. Someone started sanding the primer and paint off. RARE? Probably not. But interesting in that they are steel they could be chromed easier than the pot metal ones. They are a little different; metal stamped of course, The running lamp lens are held in by screws at the outside of the bezel rather than from the inside. Obviously these have been painted in the past. If you know more about these bezels please advise. Might be a TWo article in this mystery some where.
