Description: This one is a head scratcher. We have searched the internet, reference books and have not found another one like this anywhere! The general style is similiar to later ET-200 guitars but with several significant differences. First off is the Set neck design not seen on these guitars generally after 1963. Leads us to believe this may have been early production of this model or even a prototype. Also the pickups have a gold and red sparkle insert not seen elsewhere plus the thick amber colored pickguard are unique. There was a brand sticker on headstock but that is gone so unknown what this was branded but distinctive fretboard inlays point to Teisco Del Rey build. Condition of guitar is good with some significant scratches and dings on back but no structural damage. Neck is straight and frets show no wear. Although guitar is small bodied it actually is full scale length at 24.75" (identical to Gibson electric guitars) We have completely refurbished and cleaned every component on this guitar. Frets have been leveled and polished, fretboard thoroughly cleaned and conditioned, tuners disassembled and cleaned and lubricated, pots and switches cleaned with electrical cleaner. A new set of strings has been installed. The neck is on the chunkier side and nut width is 1.82". Neck thickness is .910 at 1st fret, 1.022 at 5th fret, 1.17 at 7th fret and 1.27 at 12th fret. The neck angle is a bit shallow which is pretty common with early Teisco guitars so, with bridge adjusted at lowest level, action is medium and measures at .110-.100 at 15th fret. Pickups have plenty of output and sound great with the bridge pickup providing a unique out of phase like midrange tone sort of telecaster-esque. Neck pickup provides a great bluesy sound and both together sound a lot like a strat neck pickup tone. Trem bar and cover missing. Guitar will also come with era correct semi rigid case too!
