Description: For your consideration. Selling a Tascam DA-30 for repair, project or parts. Too inundated with so much projects on hand and I may not be able to execute further testing. On last bench test, transport door opens & closes but unable to thread the tape and ejects. The internal mechanism may require further lubrication necessary due to prolonged inactivity, albeit the unit is guaranteed not D.O.A. Prior to posting, considerable amount of refurbishing session invested. Including but not limited to, detailed clean, hand buffed, replenished and deoxit some pertinent components and mechanical parts including knobs, dials and switches. Belts replaced. On that note, I am selling as described and AS IS condition and prepared to explore or tackle the challenge of figuring out proper implementation of fix to bring this formidable machine to near manufacturer's specs and operational order. Original attenuator knobs have been replaced with brown knobs. refer to first photo. A day in a life of a DJ, sound engineer and A/V tech for some 3 decades, It's my conviction that any linear "tape" based format, analog or digital is far more superior audio than any non-linear digital media to date. However,I'm not here to argue, but rather express my subjective endoresment and support based on personal experience. Like the analog magnetic tape, Dat is no exception. Dat is pretty much alive and kicking in my studio for personal and professional application. Perhaps it's time to rediscover tape for yourself..it might change your opinion on how to capture your next master recordings. This is no longer in production and becoming a hard commodity and very sought after due to it's high quality result of any studio or live recording project and ease of use that is still relevant in digital culture of today! Like most vintages some superficial imperfections are almost expected but in no way impede normal functionally and will be hard pressed to find one in this state of condition.
