Description: The baseball cards of The Babe were printed in 1994. They were purchased by my father in June of 1995. I have the original invoice and they have only been owned by our family. These were sold by Alan Shawn Feinstein Associates headquartered in Cranston, Rhode Island.The 12 Babe Ruth card set is sealed in shrink wrap. This assures they are in mint condition and have not been tampered with. In February of 1994, an international government agent and the Postmaster General of Guyana announced an historic agreement. It was kept in secret because this was a card set so unique, that it was the first of its kind ever made.The Babe Ruth cards are gilded in gold leaf. The card set is legal postage tender. That means that the face of each of these cards can be peeled off and be affixed to a package to be used for up to the amount of its value in Guyana currency. Each stamp has a value of $350. Guyana currency. I can not imagine very many people ever using these stamps just for postage. Just as the value of precious metal changes daily, so does the value of currency for each country. I can give no guarantee on the postage value.I have not opened the pack. According to Scott Catalog #2913, The Babe premier edition official baseball stamp cards was valued at $50.00 in February, 2018. It is known that if they are still in their sealed pack, they are mint, never hinged and complete. I am certain these are copies of the early 1900's baseball cards with a picture of Babe Ruth holding three bats. These are not the original antique collector's cards printed back in his lifetime.Mr. Feinstein, the seller of these 12 pack sets, was the owner of the famous 1919 contract that sent Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees. Mr. Feinstein purchased the contract at auction in 1993 for $99,000. He is a well educated buyer of Babe Ruth collector's items.I combine shipping on all my listings.
