Description: The Beatles - Introducing...The Beatles Vinyl LP Genuine Monarch Pressing Description Introducing...The Beatles from Vee Jay Records was the first U.S. release from the explosively popular The Beatles. Originally scheduled for a July 1963 release, this album came out on 10 January 1964, just ten days before Capitol's Meet the Beatles! hit record store shelves. After much legal wrangling, Vee-Jay was permitted to sell the album until late 1964 and by that time it sold more than 1.3 million copies. It's strange that it took so long, but on July 24, 2014 this album was finally certified gold and platinum by the RIAA. Due to the popularity of Beatles records in the mid-sixties, this has become the most counterfeited albums in their discography, but THIS COPY IS NOT A COUNTERFEIT! This one is genuine and exhibits a 'columns back' cover and HAS a comma in the song title 'Please, Please Me'. This particular edition has matrix numbers of 63-3402 and 63-3403 printed on the disc labels and in the run out grooves. The disc labels are black and silver with no color band. The cover of this 1964 copy is in very good+ condition, but unfortunately the inner sleeve is missing. The track by track audio condition is detailed below, but overall Side One is in Good condition while Side Two is Excellent condition with no significant audio artifacts. We do our best to describe condition issues that may not be obvious in the images. For more information on how we grade, check out the section below. To prevent cover seam splits, unsealed records will have their media removed from their covers and both the media, in its original inner sleeve, and the cover will be slipped into an outer poly sleeve for further protection. We ship in purpose-built LP mailers with cardboard stiffners to prevent folding. To reduce our carbon footprint and save you some cost, we usually reuse mailers we've received in the past. Please check out our store. We have all kinds of media including music, movies, books, and memorabilia. How We Grade Record grading is not a definite science and is subjective. We try our best to be as accurate as possible and follow the Goldmine Grading System described in the table below. We provide high quality photographs so you can gauge condition for yourself. In the item description, we do our best to describe condition issues that may not be obvious in the images. Grade Cover (Outer Sleeve) Media (Vinyl) Near Mint (NM) Nearly perfect, no writing, no after-purchase stickers, no markings, free of creases, ring wear, and seam splits. Shiny/glossy, no visible surface defects, label is centered, very little (if any) spindle marks, plays without significant surface noise. Excellent (E) There may be very slight ring wear or discolorization that is barely noticable. There may be slight wear, like very minor corner or seam wear or a bottom split that is less than an inch long. There may be a discount notch, drill hole, or corner cut. Slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect playability. May have a slight warp that does not impact listening experience. Very Good (VG) Imperfections are more noticable than above. Ring wear, corner or edge damage will be obvious. Some creases may be visible and seam splits may appear on more than one side, but are not obvious. There may be some writing too. Usually have some scratches that may be audible, especially in soft passages and during song gaps. Any noise does not overpower the music and is otherwise a fine listening experience. Minor writing, tape or a sticker can detract from the label. Good (G) There is significant ring wear, corner and edge damage and heavy wear. There may be heavy writing, tape, or stickers, or residue left from a removed sticker. Seam splits are obvious and significant. Plays through without skipping but there is significant surface noise and the label may be worn. The surface has long since lost its luster. Fair (F), Poor (P) Heavily damaged. Entire seams may be split. Significant warping, noise and skipping. We believe the bar is set so high with the mint grade that we don't use it. As Goldmine says, "These are absolutely perfect in every way. Often rumored but rarely seen, mint should never be used as a grade unless more than one person agrees that the record or sleeve truly is in this condition."
