Description: THE GENTLEMAN'S COMPANION VOLUME 1 BEING AN EXOTIC COOKERY BOOK VOLUME II BEING AN EXOTIC DRINKING BOOK HARDCOVER (1946) CROWN PUBLISHING ITEM DESCRIPTION This is The Gentleman's Companion: Volume 1 Being an Exotic Cookery Book: 220 pages Volume II Being an Exotic Drinking Book: 216 pages Slipcase These two volumes were purchased from a private collection and are in good condition for their age, although the slipcase is separating at the edges. Two pieces of the slipcase have completely separated but will be kept with the item. The outer layer of the slipcase spine has separated on three of the four edges. The top of the slipcase has separated two of the three edges. The bottom of the slipcase is separated on the right edge and continues to about the midway point. The slipcase has discolored due to age and has scratches, scuffs, dirt/grime, and heavy wear. Both volumes have writing on the interior of the cover that consists of a name and address with initials, please see photos. Vol. I has a small sticker on the bottom left hand corner of the inside of the back cover. The outside covers of the volumes have faded, have dirt/grime, and general wear. The interior pages of the volumes have discolored due to age and Vol. I has some dirt/grime at the bottom of a handful of pages. Pictures have been provided as a visual condition of this item.
