Description: You are buying a 47-page PRINTED plan set for laying out and cutting the joints necessary to construct a 12' x 16' three bent timber frame shed with two doors and the roof pitch is 12/12. One door is a large door on the gable end. It is 6' wide. The second door is on the side eave wall for people to access the shed. The additional pictures shown are of the shed made by a customer of mine. He finished off his shed with vertical board siding and asphalt roof shingles. He added some sky lights between the rafters for natural light for the loft area. He also added windows on the eave wall and the back gable end. As well as a window over the large gable end external sliding door. This PRINTED plan set does not include the lean-to addition on the side of the shed. The PRINTED plan set shows all the timbers you'll need to use if you wish to do boards for the first floor deck and roof deck. Or you can use 2" planks for the first floor deck and roof deck, either way these PRINTED plans can be used for both sizes of decking. The PRINTED plan set is printed on 8 1/2" x 11" standard letter size paper, non bound. You can copy a page to take out to your workshop and use to make notes, keeping the original for future reference. I have used this shed design to teach beginner timber framers how to layout and cut joints in timber framing. It is a good beginner's project. Where each timber is shown on a page, it is shown with all four sides and both ends so that you can see all the locations of all the joints and housings. All necessary dimensions have been shown for each joint. The PRINTED plan set includes a stock list of the actual sizes of each timber and the number of timbers of that size. It also includes a list for ordering your timbers, in standard stock sizes, from the mill or lumber yard. These timbers are 8x8's and the rafters are 4x6. The girts are 4x4 and the floor joists are 4x6 as well. There are bent views with dimensions. There are wall views with dimensions. There are 3d views of the frame to help with visualization. There are many details such as, roof plan, brace detail, collar beam detail, eave detail, floor joist detail, post tenon detail, ridge detail, and tie beam tenon detail. There are single stick drawings for each long sill, each cross sill, the tying joist, and a regular floor joist. There are single stick drawings for each post in each bent, and each tie beam in each bent, one for the long brace, and one for the short brace, each plate, one for the rafters with the tongue tenon, one for the rafters with the fork pocket, and one for the collar beam. One page has all the long girts and the short girts as well as the small door header timber. One page has the gable end door posts, and the side wall door post, which makes it a complete set for every timber in the frame. This frame is customizable to your own needs. You can make the door narrower if you choose but moving the mortises in the tie beam and sill. You can make the large gable end doors hinged and not an external slider if you wish. You could add more doors and windows if you want. You could make the frame taller by making the post longer. And you can enclose it with vertical siding or horizontal siding if you add blocking.
