I think, think that might simply have been a way of making sure they rotated their stock of this stuff, if for some reason it was unusable you have to assume they would just throw it away. They labeled it that way along with the date of receipt so that older inventory would be used first. That’s my guess. Which gets us to a potentially more important issue. The jug I am looking at is freshness dated 10/2020, so it’s almost over four years past. I don’t know whether that totally disqualifies it from being used. Maybe for teaching purposes or something? So if the freshness date preclude these being used DO NOT BUY THEM. Four of these are available to start with, price is for one sealed jug.
