Description: EARLY VINTAGE DEXTER 11710 10"INCH BUTCHERS KNIFE USA MADE GREAT CONDITION!. Offered for your consideration is a fine vintage Dexter 11710 10" carbon steel butcher knife. It's a large, well-made, and sturdy knife that's well-suited for a wide range of common applications aside from butchering. It would be great as a general purpose belt knife or camp knife as well.The knife has seen light use and remains in very nice, original condition with no problems at all. It has not been buffed or polished and remains original.This is a classic, American-made knife with a classic look. The sturdy carbon steel blade has been lightly sharpened and the blade finish is free of errant grinder marks or harsh sharpening abrasions with just a few fine, hairline sharpening abrasions parallel to the edge as shown. The blade is free of any significant corrosion or pitting with just a couple scattered, very small spots of the usual fine surface peppering as shown. The blade still shows traces of its original mirrored finish and the etched markings remain visible, although they are very light (which is standard for Dexter knives of this era). The edge is free of any nicks, chips, dings, or damage and remains very nice with just a bit of normal wear. It remains somewhat sharp and the knife is ready for immediate use, although a quick touch-up would have it razor sharp in no time. The solid hardwood handle remains very nice on this example with the stamped markings clearly visible and bold. It remains tightly secured and free of any chips, cracks, gouges, or damage with just a bit of normal wear. The wood has a warm, silky-smooth feel in the hand and the handle is free of any stains or discoloration.The knife measures just over 15-1/2" in overall length.A great-looking, original example of this classic American-made butcher knife!!
