Description: This wonderful quality, genuine Georgian period ring is in solid 18 carat gold and dates to around 1800. It's formed from a larger sized split ring connector which was sealed shut during the Victorian period. This gives it a unique, fascinating and historical impression and is surprisingly comfortable. It's rounded throughout, with simple, striking spiral-like decoration that's a typically Georgian design, and the sharpness of detail gives an impression of quality, bolstered by the thickness - it's almost as thick as it is wide. It has some superb age patina that makes it look better the closer you get. At 19 mm external, 15 mm internal, it can still be worn as a necklace connector - it's a perfect size to be part of a focal point of a necklace, or to enhance a larger pendant or fob. It weighs 2.7 grams and is a ring size 4.5, not resizable. It's in lovely antique condition with lines where it used to open.
