Description: This vintage hardcover book, "Social Problems of Today" comes in acceptable to good condition, with fully intact binding, minor edge wear to the cover, ex-library markings, the title page missing, minor yellowing to the pages, and light general handling wear and soiling (see pictures). The book is an early sociology textbook from sometime after 1924 (latest date mentioned in the text). The contents reflect the times and deals with the issues of social behavior, mental health and race VERY differently than they would be today. The book was written by Grove Samuel Dow (publisher and print date are unknown due to the missing title page).The book was written by several authors, and edited by A. Harry Passow (Professor of Education at Teachers College), and published by The Bureau of Publications, Teachers College, Columbia University in 1963.The book was part of an exhibit by Gary, IN resident Victor Travis at the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago.
