Description: Genuine Rolex Men's Sports watch box circa 1959 Light tan color with gold foil embossed logos and design. Measures (closed) apx 5" x 3.75" x 1.9" Side walls vary in thickness, apx .5" My mom used this for over 60 years as a trinket box on her dresser. As such it saw plenty of use both from her as well as us kids who handled it. It has the scars to show this love: water stains, worn corners, areas where paper had been stuck and torn away. The box originally came with my dad's Rolex watch which he bought for himself upon returning from military duty overseas to his engineering position. Fair Condition. Please review all pics carefully. I do my best to take as many images as an item requires and crop them so you can see details. Colors vary from screen to screen and between lighting and cameras. These pics have been brightened or had tint changed in order to best match my monitors to the actual item (and even then there are still differences). Box construction is solid. Opens, closes and stays tightly closed very well with a satisfying shuffle sound of the wood on wood.Hinge looks and works very well. Tan leather exterior shows significant wear and a water stain on the top as well as spots where paper had been stuck to the surface. Leather has a smooth feel to it. Worn areas and damage are as shown. The corners need the most attention. Interior surface is shiny and smooth, has some scratches from use holding sewing supplies and trinkets. On the underside of the lid the upper left corner is lighter toned wood than the rest.Bottom is in good shape. Fabric has deep green color tone with no tears, slight wear from being shuffled about atop a dresser. Corners are in fair to good shape. I've not treated this box with anything more than simple respect. It needs someone who knows what they're doing to maintain it and bring back some of that life. Thank you for looking!
