Description: Please be aware, no doll is included in this listing! Wedding Day #972 was the first of many Barbie wedding dresses. It was introduced along with her debut in 1959 and was produced for three years, through 1962. It was replaced in 1963 by Bride's Dream. This dress is the 1959 release with the Barbie TM tag. Later releases had the Barbie R tag. A beautiful bridal gown in pure white satin with an overlay of flocked tulle. This exquisitely crafted gown features a full double tier tulle skirt over the satin with a train. The dress closes with two snaps down the back of the bodice. Includes a vintage tulle veil and vintage bouquet (not the original veil & bouquet for this set). Also includes vintage white open toe heels. Condition: This dress still has the the fragile long tulle sleeves. There is a repair in the tulle bodice and at the shoulder where the tulle has been stitched. Both snaps are present in the back. The flocked tulle train has some small holes -I photographed the dress against a black background so every hole is visible, but unless the dress is against a black backdrop, it’s very difficult to see the flaws in the tulle layers. There is fraying at the dress hem. Being 65 years old, the silvery glitter that originally accented the tulle is gone.
