The red pip on the sweeping second hand truly pops against the dark blue, sunburst dial. The dial features day and date at the 3 o'clock position. The white chapter ring includes a 24 hour time scale. The dial is framed by a matte black, bi-directional rotating diving bezel. The bezel has just the right amount of resistance, and its action is smooth. This watch has modern proportions at 42 mm, and wears comfortably. This watch ships with a brand new, 20 mm Strapseeker leather strap. It is a beautiful royal blue color, and suits the watch very well. The strap retails for $60 USD. Inside this timepiece is a 17 jewel, Baumgartner 158 31/7 automatic movement. It has a 44 hour power reserve, and the second hand sweeps at 18,000 bph. It features a quickset feature for the date, as well as hand winding. The watch has been running and stopping for some time, so it will definitely require a cleaning and service. The watch has signs of wear that you would expect from a 50 year old timepiece, but overall it looks very good. You will often see these pieces listed as "Sicura Breitling". That's because in 1979 Ernest Schneider from Sicura signed an agreement with Willy Breitling to buy the rights to the Breitling name. Sicura is the reason that Breitling survived the quartz crisis. Just a few years after this Sea-Gull diver was made, the Sicura brand was phased out, and Sicura became Breitling.
